Join us for an informative and interactive session with Dr. Carol Kuhle and Dr. Allison Quick on GSM management in breast cancer survivors. We will discuss both controversies and strategies around the use of vaginal estrogen therapies and vaginal laser procedures.

Simply suggesting any treatment containing estrogen can strike fear into a breast cancer survivor's heart. And this is understandable, given the fact that estrogen suppressing therapies are frequently used in cancer treatment. However, the relationship between estrogens and breast cancer is complex. At times the use of topical vaginal estrogens may be appropriate. How can we help survivors and their other medical providers feel more comfortable with the use of topical hormonal treatments when appropriately prescribed?

Vaginal laser is commonly being used for "vaginal rejuvenation" in the community and private practice setting and women pay thousands of dollars out of pocket to have it done. Some data supports a benefit for vaginal effects from cancer treatments; however, the data are conflicting and large prospective randomized trials are lacking. Is this a treatment that should be considered for women with cancer suffering from vaginal and sexual side effects from their treatment?
