The Scientific Network is organizing a half-day pre-conference CME program that will be held in conjunction with the upcoming Scientific Network Conference, September 27-28, 2018, at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Our goal is to educate clinicians and providers to significantly improve the care for women with a history of cancer and advance the field of sexual medicine and cancer survivorship. The program will be conducted in accordance with ACCME standards.
The program is applicable to physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and physical therapists who care for women with a history of cancer. Participants will acquire critical medical knowledge, tailored communication skills, and become familiar with targeted screening tools for identifying sexual/vulvovaginal health concerns. In addition, attendees will gain an overview of evidence-based treatment strategies to address women’s vulvovaginal health concerns and changes in sexual response.
Individuals interested in creating sexual health services for their patients will have the opportunity to learn from internationally-known thought leaders in this field. The program will focus on gold-standard practices in sexual health after cancer, how to set up and utilize various models of clinical care, and how to cultivate and disseminate appropriate resources for patients.
